The Voyage of the Monarch is a collaboration between Cowiche Canyon Conservancy, the Yakima Symphony Orchestra, Yakima-Morelia Sister City Association and friends, celebrating the annual migration of the Monarch butterfly.

The Voyage of the Monarch Art Exhibit: Images of the Monarch and its migration

We are seeking images representative of the Monarch butterfly and its voyage for a three-month art exhibit at Essencia Artisan Bakery. We will accept submissions in the following mediums: drawing, prints, fiber arts, painting, photography, and mixed media work. Download entry form. Submissions are due November 30, 2017, 5:00 pm. Biology & Conservation of Monarch Butterflies in the Pacific Northwest, a talk by Dr. David James - Free!

David James will present information on our rapidly evolving newunderstanding of Monarch butterfly biology and ecology in the Pacific Northwest. He will share the results of five years of citizen scienctist aided tagging of Monarch and discuss the importance of creating Monarch butterfly habitat in Washington gardens, parks, and natural areas to help reverse population decline.
